Colorado Medicaid benefits cover "medically necessary" eyeglasses. There is no yearly limit or maximum for medically necessary eyeglasses as long as your child meets the below criteria.

Medical necessity for an eyeglass order is met when:

  • Child has a new or updated prescription.
  • Child has no current eyeglasses. They are lost or missing.
  • Child’s current eyeglasses are broken or damaged beyond repair.

But medical necessity for an eyeglass order is NOT met when:

  • Child has a new pair of eyeglasses currently on order or pending delivery.
  • Ordering back-up glasses. Only one pair per order is allowed.
  • Prescription is invalid, expired or incomplete.

Agreeing to our terms of service indicates you believe this order to be medically necessity.
